our weekend away

hi all -

last weekend we went to hershey, pa since mom wanted to go for the stitching festival that they were having at the hershey lodge.
we all packed into the camper- and i drove the mini van so we had a car and away we went--
normally it is about a 4 hour drive- but both ways there was construction in pa- and it made the ride MUCH longer than it should have been- but we has lots of fun anyway!!

saturday was the last day that hersheypark was open for the season- and the kids had a chance to go on all of the kiddie rides-- sam and catherine had so much fun- and liam was just happy to see some new sights in his stroller.

on sunday we went to chocolate world which is next to hersheypark and we saw the chocolate tour and got "roasted". and then of course we bough lots of chocolate- since it tastes so much better from there - since it is fresher!!!

we had a great weekend away- and i always love to get away...

6 months already!

i cannot believe that it has been 6 months on friday since we came home with Liam from Korea.
it was such a whirlwind trip- but we had such a great time!!

here are some pics from then until now...

Just wanted to include a quick note that sam had a great week at school- that his teacher even called us yesterday to say what a great day he had! how nice is that!!

mom and i are going to the scrapbook expo at hofstra in a little while to buy more stuff i am sure...

the butterflies have come!!

we have been waiting for our butterflies to hatch from the chrysalis-- and today 3 butterflies hatched!!!

sam's first day

hi everyone--

so sam went off on his first day of school today-- first grade... he is getting so big-- he had to be there at 8:05 am which is REALLY early for us-- but we managed...

i hope he is happy- i am sure he is going to complain that there was too much work and not enough play-- but what can you do? actually i don't blame him....

hi again!

i am a little sad that summer vacation is almost over- i am not looking forward to waking up early- and neither is Sam-- that's for sure!!!

i did not post about what we did this summer--

we went to disney world right after school got out-- it was SOOOOOO hot- but we all went since Sam wanted to see Star Wars weekend- and for some crazy reason they do it in june every year!

but we all had a great time-- here are some pics...

a slow day

its just another rainy day here- with the kids looking for more to do- than stay inside again.
sam is watching his transformers show- with catherine close behind trying to get his attention anyway she know how.

i was on my korea message board that i love to be on- and someone posted an article about infant attachment that i thought was very interesting..

an update

here is a picture of our sam-- he is getting soooo big!!!

okay- i wanted that picture of catherine to be at the bottom- but i cannot figure out how to move it- so i guess it has to be there- tony says this is a glimpse of whan catherine will look like as a teenager-- i just did not put her hair up yet..

hello all- i'm sorry that i have not updated the blog in a really long time- i was not sure anyone even checking in- but thank you grandma mary...

the kids are doing well- liam went for his checkup last week. he weighs 17.3 pounds and he is almost 28 inches long- he is in the lower percentile for his height and weight- but it sure does not feel like it when i am carrying him around!

catherine is doing well- she wants to go to school in september- so i am sure she is not going to be that happy when we drop sam off and she stays in the stroller- last year we drove to the kindergarten center and they had a "valet drop off"- where they come to the car and they would open the door and sam would get out and go right in to school- they have that at school #3 where sam is headed- but since we live close enough to walk-- it does not help-- and at least in the beginning- i am hoping they let me walk him to the door- so i know that he definately made it there.

i have to look for a good picture of liam and i will post it too--

okay- so it does not feel like we have been home two weeks already.. liam is doing so great- we went to the dr on monday for his checkup and he is 25 1/2 inches and 13 lb 14 oz.. so he is growing- we have had to up his formula amount to 7 oz since he is just such a hungry guy...

sam and catherine are so happy to have their baby brother home as well. i just ordered the announcements so they should be coming to mailboxes in about 3 weeks!

an update

so we have been home from korea a week today-- liam is doing so great- we are working out some details with his sleeping- like trying to get him to sleep the whole night...

but we are a happy family!! i missed the kids sooo much while i was gone- but korea was amazing!! even with the 14 hours plane ride each way!!

mom had a great time too- i am so glad we had a chance to go - getting to meet liam and catherines foster mother was amazing- what a great opportunity- i cant wait until we have a chance to go back as a family when the kids get older.

so liam was 13.9 pounds and 25 inches last week- he is getting a check up on monday- and he has been eating like crazy- so we ill see how much he weighs then--

so we just got to meet with the old and young dr. kim's

they were very wise and kind and they gave us gifts and we gave them a donation to eastern.
so now we are waiting in teh computer room until 1100 am to meet liam-- we have all his paperwork in the rom- so we are ready to go for him--

after the meeting with liam we are going out to lunch with the director of something in adoption here which is very nicethen we are meeting with catherines foster family at 2 pm and then we will try to get some shopping done- i think we are going to need to take a taxi ther now- since i do not thonk we have the time to get lost on teh subways today-

again- i love you sam and catherine and see you guys tomorrow

just wanted to say hi--

we are going to meet dr kim at 1000 am and then we are going to see the nursery and "meet" the babies- mom is hoping to get to feed some babies while we are there-
and then we meet liam at 11 am-- we just cant wait!!!!

i hope to find a usb thing today so i can put ths pics online later--

so we are in korea and pretty tired- we ate chinese food dinner that a sw from eastern ordered and paid for us-- so nice...

and then mom and i met up with some other adoptive parents that are picking up their babies tomorrow and thursday- we are the only ones here for such a short trip though...

a little update

hi all again--

so the new update is that my mom is helping our a fellow member of my adoption message board i belong to -she is also working with love the children our agency in quakertown, pa--

so my mom is bring back her baby for them as well!!

how exciting is that!!! my mom is really excited too..

is is a little girl-- so it should be a fun experience bringing 2 little ones back with us--

well to korea we go...

so i found out yesterday from our agency director that they cannot find an escort for liam from korea. so she said we had two choices-- we can wait a couple of weeks to see if they can find an escort or we can go to korea and get him..

so after i picked up my mouth off of the floor i made sure it was feasible-- and called back and said yes!!!!!!!

so my mom and i are going and sam and catherine are staying home- and papa joe and grandma mary are coming to our house to help out and my dad is taking catherine during the day while tony is at work.

so we are leaving on sunday and coming back on wednesday!!!

i set this up again to use while i am in korea to post so you guys can click on and see pics of us and liam-- hopefully.. if i can figure it out there!!!

so when i have the confirmed flights i'll let you all know--
